Miu Miu South Coast Plaza

  • Storefront – 2009
  • Costa Mesa, CA
  • Designer: Studio Baciocchi
  • Architect: Brand + Allen Architects
  • General Contractor: Alain Hirsch Construction

Miu Miu wanted a back-lit glass storefront that also incorporates different metal alloys. As a mounting system, IMS developed a completely hidden, custom point-supported steel structure (engineered for seismic conditions) to support both the light fixtures and patterned glass panels. All glass edges were finished with a custom bevel. Between each glass panel is a slender polished brass reveal, allowing for zero tolerance within the system. As a compliment to the precision glass panel system, IMS manufactured mirror-finished stainless steel framing for the display windows and the seamless entry doors.
